Evlove Intimates (yes, that would be evolve spelled backwards) has been selling lingerie since the Fall of 2006. Shortly after their inception, Evlove joined the prosumer movement, allowing customers to customize lingerie items on the Evlove website. Initially, ChicagoTechNews.com planned on posting an article on the Illinois Politico Network and how it extends to the Chicago Tech Community this week. But, the Illinois General Assembly would not let that happen.
As of today, July 1, 2009, the State of Illinois entered a new fiscal year without an operational budget. Per the Illinois Constitution, the Governor is responsible for presenting a budget and the General Assembly is responsible for presenting and approving appropriations (via legislation) to fund that budget. In effective contact strategy takes research, initiative, and accuracy – all important ingredients of a successful job search. Research is required to assemble your contact list. Initiative is required to place calls and visit every single person on that list. Accuracy is required because you will need to confirm the spelling and pronunciation of each person’s name as well as his or her title.
There are two components to an effective contact strategy: assembling your contact list, and working that list. In each call, your goal is to get the name of an “action person,” someone who can see you and then offer you a job. When talking with a software vendor, you may have had a cynical moment and said something to the effect of “and how do I know this works or “how exactly am I supposed to use this? It’s OK. We all have those feelings. On the vendor side of things, StreetSmarts has decided to launch a pre-emptive strike on those questions in the form of a contest.
The “StreetSmarts Grand Prix 2009″ will take (most likely) 3-5 companies, send consultants amd industry experts over to evaluate how said companies could best utilize the StreetSmarts software package (a sort of mash-up of a knowledge management system and social media platform), then install it and train the companies how to use it. In three months, the contestant companies will compare notes on who was able to increase their sales the most. (more…)

With Father’s Day less than week away and the ranks of unemployed men more than doubling over the last year, a growing number of dads are crossing their fingers for the perfect, yet seemingly unobtainable gift: a job.
Fathers and other men should expect to get some relief later this year and in the first part of 2010 as federal stimulus money ignites job creation.
